These are our TOP TEN rules of Marketing:

When you've been doing something as long as we have, twenty-plus years now, you learn a few things along the way. These rules that we've written for ourselves define the parameters by which we conduct business.

MARKETING IS A BLOODSPORT

Play as if your competition understands this.

01

DO NO HARM

Don’t say ANYTHING that offends or diminishes potential customers.

02

NO PUNCHLINES

Don’t say ANYTHING that gives the opportunity to be used as a joke.

03

NO COPYCATS

Don’t EVER mimic other marketing efforts.

04

DECEIVE NOT

NEVER be misleading in your marketing efforts.

05

DON’T BE QUAINT

Appropriate humor in marketing is good, being silly is not.

06

STAY NEUTRAL

NEVER make political or social statements.

07

TARGET LARGELY

Craft a message that targets EVERYONE. (potential clients)

08

AVOID “SALES”

Sales reduce the perceived value of your product/service and destroy your brand ethos.

09

HIRE PROFESSIONAL SPOKESPEOPLE

Sorry, you’re not an actor. =)
